1. Purpose
This policy describes when an amount may be refunded, how it is calculated and within what time. It supplements the Terms of Service, of which it forms part.
Nothing is paid before delivery. In almost every situation where another supplier would owe a refund, no invoice is issued at all. What follows covers the cases that remain, including payments made in error through the payment link.
2. Work priced per word: cancelling before it starts
The Client may withdraw from the order in writing at any time before work begins. As no amount has been paid, no invoice is issued and nothing is owed on either side.
3. Work priced per word: cancelling during performance
Where work has begun, a Client who ends the contract remains liable for the part actually performed, assessed on the volume worked on. A written statement is provided together with the work carried out, and an invoice is issued for that amount alone, payable within fourteen days.
4. Payments made through the payment link
The payment link settles an invoice for work already delivered. In the ordinary course there is therefore nothing to refund: the Client pays what is owed, once, after receiving the work.
Three situations call for a refund, and in each of them the full amount is returned without the Client having to justify the request:
- A payment made without any corresponding delivery — typically by someone who has not yet ordered anything.
- A payment exceeding the amount actually due, for instance where the calculator applied a published rate and a reduced rate had been agreed. The excess is refunded.
- A payment made twice for the same invoice.
Write to contact@canajeva.fr with the payment reference. Refunds are made to the same payment method, in the same currency as the payment (EUR or SEK), for the amount actually paid, at no cost to the Client. No exchange-rate adjustment is applied in either direction.
5. Consumer withdrawal
A consumer Client has fourteen days from acceptance of the quotation to withdraw, in the conditions set out in article 13 of the Terms of Service. Because nothing is paid before delivery, withdrawing before work has begun leaves nothing to refund and no invoice to pay.
Where the consumer asked for work to begin within those fourteen days and then withdraws, an amount proportionate to what was supplied remains due under Article L221-25 of the French Consumer Code. The calculation is shown in writing before it is invoiced.
Once the service has been fully performed, after that express request and the accompanying acknowledgment, the right of withdrawal no longer applies, in accordance with Article L221-28, 1°.
6. Failure to deliver on time
Where a stated turnaround is missed for reasons not attributable to the Client and not covered by a suspension, the Client may require performance within a reasonable further period and, failing that, end the contract. The invoice is not issued, or is cancelled by credit note if it has already gone out, and anything already paid is returned in full.
For a consumer Client, that refund is made no later than fourteen days after the contract ends, under Article L216-7 of the French Consumer Code.
7. Discrepancies found after delivery
Discrepancies reported within seven days of delivery are corrected free of charge; they do not give rise to a refund. Where correction proves impossible, the refund covers the part of the price corresponding to the work affected.
The following give rise to no refund: a preference for a different turn of phrase where the translation is accurate, terminology not supplied before the work began, or a change to the source text after delivery.
8. How refunds are made
Every refund is made in euros, by the same payment method used for the order, without conversion and at no cost to the Client. The refund is made no later than fourteen days after the Supplier accepts that a refund is due, and normally much sooner.
9. Complaints
Any complaint should be made in writing, by email to contact@canajeva.fr or by post to Anastasija Canajeva — Entrepreneur individuel, 1 rue de Rennes, 75006 Paris, France.
Receipt of any complaint is acknowledged within five (5) working days and a reasoned reply is given within thirty (30) days.
